Recent Midget 16UAA News

The GHC Midget 16UAA (Green) team defeated the Secaucus Patriots to win the 2019 Mid Atlantic Silver Stick Regional tournament and advance to the the National tournament in Newmarket, Ontario in January.

Genesis went undefeated in the tournament opening on with a 5-0 win over the Brick Hockey Club on Friday night.   On Saturday Genesis topped the Bud Bakewell Ice Hawks 4-0 and then defeated the Tri-City Eagles 4-1 later that day to advance to the playoffs.

In the Semifinal play GHC downed the Delco Phantoms 5-2  to advance to the finals.

In the Championship game, GHC was faced with the Secaucus Patriots who the defeated by a score of 5-1 to win 2019 Mid Atlantic Silver Stick Regional tournament and advance to the the National tournament in Newmarket, Ontario in January.

16UAA Green Wins Championship at Philadelphia Shootout

The GHC 16UAA Green '03 team capped an inaugural weekend of great hockey defeating Team Maryland 15U Pure AAA to win the Philadelphia Shootout at Ice Line Quad Rinks in West Chester, PA.

Genesis dropped a tough one to the JR Flyers 15U team 3-2 in overtime in game 1 but rebounded to beat 621 Hockey 7-2 in game 2 Friday evening. On Saturday they returned to defeat Team Maryland 15U Pure 5-3 in game 3 but was bested by Team Maryland 16UAAA  10-0 on Sunday afternoon.

In the semifinals, GHC faced off against the JR Flyers 16UAAA and defeated them 2-1 to advance to the Finals Monday afternoon to face Team Maryland 15UAAA who defeated a very good Team Maryland 16UAAA earlier in the day.

In the championship game, it was all Team Genesis who went on to handily defeat Team Maryland 8-1 to win the tournament.

Overall, it was an excellent start for Coach Ken Orlando and the 16UAA Green ('03) team as well as the Genesis Hockey Club.  Great work by all.
