Genesis Squirt 10UAA Wins XHP Heatwave Tournament

By Genesis Hockey Club 06/17/2019, 8:00pm EDT

The Genesis Squirt AA team (aka, Hatfield Torpedoes Spring team) took the championship in the XHP Heatwave Tournament out of Bridgewater Sports Arena this past weekend.  Going 2-1-1 in the round-robin round, with 7-1 and 6-3 wins over XHP Selects and a 7-2 loss and 1-1 tie with the Brooklyn Knighthawks, they earned a birth to the championship game against the Brooklyn Knighthawks.  A close hard fought back and forth battle, the Knighthawks took a 1-0 before Team Genesis responded with back to back goals midway through the final period to take the lead which they held on for a solid 2-1 victory over the Knighthawks.  Teamwork, support for one another, and perseverance were key for the success of the Squirt AA team.
